Azarbaijan Shahid Madani University Shines Scientifically on the Global Stage

Azarbaijan Shahid Madani University, according to the latest results of the 2025 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (Shanghai Ranking), has achieved second place among Iranian universities in the field of Mathematics, and ranks 301–400 globally. Three universities from Iran — Iran University of Science and Technology, Azarbaijan Shahid Madani University, and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad — are now among the world's top universities in Mathematics.

The Shanghai Ranking, first published in June 2003 by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, is today recognized as one of the most prestigious university ranking systems in the world. Since 2017, the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) has been published by this system, and the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) annually reviews and analyzes the status of Iranian universities in this ranking. In 2025, the Shanghai Ranking has published its subject rankings for the ninth consecutive year. This report evaluates university performance across five broad fields — Natural Sciences (8 subjects), Engineering (25 subjects), Life Sciences (4 subjects), Medical Sciences (6 subjects), and Social Sciences (14 subjects) — covering a total of 57 subjects.
